The Songbook: Cave In

In the latest episode of "The Songbook", Steve Brodsky and Adam McGrath from Cave In sit down for a stunning play through of "Shake My Blood" off the band's latest album "Final Transmission." A deeply personal record, it was completed after the tragic death of Cave In's founding bassist Caleb Scofield."The song 'Shake My Blood' was my first opportunity to express what I was feeling about the whole situation," Brodsky explained at the time of the album's release."It's a mix of extreme grief, frustration and anger.I was trying to do something to gain the clearest answer about whatever the next move might be.Of their appearance on "The Songbook," Brodsky and McGrath offer in a joint statement: "It was very cool of Gibson to have us perform an acoustic version of a Cave In song.We even snuck in part of a Joe Walsh song that day, jamming fireside in a canyon in Los Angeles last fall.As fans of sixties and seventies California folk/country/psych, the location and vibe was right up our alley."
